Crafting and Placing Cisterns, Channels, and Faucets

The Plumbing Set

Every fluid setup uses three parts:

• Cistern — stores fluid. Tiers: Clay Cistern, Terracotta Cistern, Porcelain Cistern (plus colored Porcelain Cistern variants).
• Channel — routes fluid between blocks. Tiers: Clay Channel, Terracotta Channel, Porcelain Channel.
• Faucet — pulls fluid out of a Cistern. Tiers: Clay Faucet, Terracotta Faucet, Porcelain Faucet.

Build Order

1. Craft the unfired versions: Unfired Cistern, Unfired Channel, Unfired Faucet.

2. Fire each in a Kiln (or furnace) to get the Clay tier.

3. Place the Clay Cistern where fluid should collect.

4. Run Clay Channel blocks from the Cistern to wherever the fluid needs to go.

5. Attach a Clay Faucet to the Cistern to control output into the Channel.

Upgrading

Refire Clay pieces to reach Terracotta, and refire those to reach Porcelain. Colored Porcelain Cistern blocks (for example Red Porcelain Cistern or Blue Porcelain Cistern) let you label storage by color while keeping the same plumbing behavior.
