How to Beat Nerakyss, The Kraken

Locating the Kraken

Nerakyss, The Kraken is an aquatic boss. You'll find its spawner in ocean or deep-water structures, or you can place the Nerakyss, The Kraken Spawn Egg yourself. The arena is water, so bring Water Breathing and Depth Strider enchants before you dive in.

Gear That Works Underwater

Use the Kraken Trident or Kraken Cannon — both are designed for this fight. The Kraken Tooth drops from the boss and its tentacles, and is used to craft these weapons. Equip an Enhanced Shield to block tentacle slams. Dragon Bones armor still works well here because of its durability.

Handling Tentacles and Adds

Kraken Tentacle mobs and Undying Tentacle adds spawn around the boss. They grapple and pull you, so cut them down with a Dagger or Warrior Sword before focusing Nerakyss. The boss itself uses sweeping attacks and can drag you under. Stay near the surface when possible, and use a TP Stick to escape grapples. When Nerakyss dies, it drops Kraken Teeth, Kraken Cannon parts, and loot for the Kraken-themed crafting line. Re-summon with the spawn egg if you want more teeth.
