Vanilla Vistas Mod 1.16.5, — Reference
Biome Placement & Climate Groups
The mod completely replaces the vanilla biome generator. Instead of random placement, biomes are organized into Climate Groups. This ensures that snowy biomes do not generate directly next to deserts, creating a more immersive world map.
Climate Categories
- Snowy: Frozen Oceans, Snowy Tundra, Snowy Taiga.
- Cool: Taiga, Giant Tree Taiga, Extreme Hills.
- Warm: Forests, Plains, Birch Forests, Swamps.
- Hot: Deserts, Savannas, Jungles, Badlands.
Modded Biome Integration (1.16.5+)
In the 1.16.5 version, Vanilla Vistas uses the Forge Biome Dictionary to automatically sort modded biomes (from mods like Biomes O' Plenty or Oh The Biomes You'll Go) into these climate groups. This allows players to enjoy custom terrain with a massive variety of modded flora and environments without manual configuration.
Structures & Resources
Vanilla Vistas preserves all standard Minecraft gameplay elements while improving their context within the world.
Structures
All vanilla structures spawn in their appropriate biomes, often benefiting from the flatter terrain provided for villages. - Villages: Spawn more frequently on flat plains or gentle slopes, reducing the occurrence of "glitched" houses on steep cliffs. - Strongholds & Dungeons: Generate at standard depths and frequencies. - Mineshafts & Ravines: Integrated into the overhauled underground carvers.
Ore Generation
Ore distribution remains identical to vanilla Minecraft. Players do not need to adjust their mining strategies. Compatibility with modded ores (Copper, Tin, etc.) is handled automatically via OTG's resource injection system, provided the ores are configured to spawn in the overworld.
