ProjectE — Guide
Getting Started
The usual first steps into ProjectE:
- Craft a Philosopher's Stone. It is the key ingredient of nearly every ProjectE recipe and a world-transmutation tool in its own right.
- Craft a Transmutation Table using the Philosopher's Stone. This is the heart of the mod.
- Feed the table. Put items in to permanently learn them while banking their EMC value.
- Withdraw what you need. Click any learned item to take copies out, paying its EMC cost from your bank.
- Scale up. Build Energy Collectors and Anti-Matter Relays to generate EMC passively, Energy Condensers to duplicate items automatically, and work up the alchemical fuel chain toward Dark Matter and Red Matter.
Advancements guide your progression through the mod, so the advancements screen doubles as a quest book.
EMC & The Transmutation Table
EMC (Energy-Matter Covalence) is the mod's universal currency. Every item that can be transmuted carries an EMC value - common blocks are worth a little, rare materials a lot.
The Transmutation Table is where EMC lives:
- Learning. Put any item into the table and you permanently learn it while its EMC value is added to your bank. Knowledge and banked EMC are saved per player and follow you across sessions and worlds on a server.
- Withdrawing. Every learned item appears in the table's alchemy circles. Click one to withdraw copies, paying its EMC cost from your bank.
- Searching. A built-in search box filters your learned items, and tome/unlearned filters keep long lists manageable.
- Tablet. A portable version, the Transmutation Tablet, gives you the same interface from your inventory.
Because knowledge is permanent, the table turns every duplicate drop, mob farm output, or spare stack into progress: burn it for EMC now, withdraw something better later.
Philosopher's Stone
The Philosopher's Stone is both the mod's crafting core and a hands-on transmutation tool:
- World transmutation. Right-click blocks in the world to transmute them in place - stone to cobblestone, grass to sand, and many more pairings. A live preview overlay shows exactly which blocks will change before you commit.
- Charging. Charge the stone up to transmute bigger areas at once.
- Portable crafting. Shift-right-click in the air to open a portable crafting grid.
- Crafting ingredient. The stone is the key ingredient of the mod's recipes - and it is not consumed when used in crafting.
Klein Stars
Klein Stars are portable EMC batteries. Six tiers - Ein, Zwei, Drei, Vier, Sphere, Omega - each holding double the EMC of the tier below, up to millions of EMC in the Omega star.
- Charging. Charge them in an Anti-Matter Relay (or on the Transmutation Table interface).
- Spending. Powered tools, armor abilities, rings and amulets draw from a Klein Star in your inventory instead of burning fuel items.
- Upgrading. Four stars of one tier combine into one star of the next tier, keeping their stored EMC.
