Crafting and Using the 
Blank Rune
Your entry point into Mine Cells is the Blank Rune. Craft it, then use it to open a portal into the mod's first dimension, the Prisoners' Quarters. Place the rune and interact with it to activate the portal; step through to arrive in the starting area. Bring basic gear, food, and a light source — the dimension is dark and hostile from the moment you arrive.
What to Do First Inside
Once inside, your priorities are survival and progression:
- Locate the
Spawner Rune and the Concierge Spawn Obelisk to understand where the boss arena sits. - Kill mobs like Buzzcutters, Runners, Shieldbearers, and Undead Archers to collect Cells.
- Find the
Cell Holder and deposit your Cells — this is how you unlock permanent upgrades and new gear between runs. - Watch for Elite Obelisks; activating one spawns an ELITE version of a mob that drops better loot.
Getting Back Out
Death in the Prisoners' Quarters sends you back to the Overworld, but progress stored in the Cell Holder persists. Re-enter through the portal to keep pushing deeper. Treat each trip as a run: bank Cells early, then explore further once your gear is upgraded.
