Mine & Blade: Battlegear 2 Mod — Reference
Core Mechanics
Battlegear Mode
The central mechanic of the mod is the Battlegear Mode, toggled by pressing the 'R' key (default). When activated, the player switches from their standard hotbar to a specialized set of three dual-wielding slots.
- Dual Wielding: Players can place weapons or tools in both the main hand and off-hand slots. Left-clicking performs an action with the main hand, while right-clicking performs an action with the off-hand.
- Weapon Slots: The mod adds a custom inventory GUI where players can equip three pairs of weapons. These can be cycled through while in Battlegear mode.
Shield Blocking
Shields are not just passive items; they require active use. When a shield is equipped in the off-hand, holding the right-click button will raise the shield. * Damage Reduction: A raised shield blocks 100% of incoming frontal damage from most sources (arrows, melee, explosions). * Shield Durability/Stamina: Blocking consumes a 'Shield Bar' (stamina). If the bar reaches zero, the player is stunned, and the shield is lowered until the bar regenerates. * Shield Bash: While blocking, pressing the 'Attack' key (Left Click) allows the player to perform a shield bash, knocking back enemies at the cost of extra stamina.
Weight and Movement
Heavy equipment affects player mobility. Wearing heavy armor or carrying large shields may slightly reduce movement speed or increase the rate of stamina consumption during combat actions.
Weapons
Battlegear 2 adds several new weapon types, each with unique attributes that make them suitable for different combat scenarios. All weapons come in Wood, Stone, Iron, Gold, and Diamond tiers.
| Weapon | Special Ability | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Waraxe | Armor Piercing | Ignores a portion of the target's armor value, making it effective against heavily armored foes. |
| Mace | Daze | Has a chance to apply a 'Daze' effect, slowing the enemy and causing their screen to shake. |
| Spear | Reach | Allows the player to hit enemies from a further distance than standard swords. |
| Dagger | Backstab | Deals significantly increased damage when attacking an enemy from behind. Very fast attack speed. |
Weapon Stats Table
| Material | Waraxe Damage | Mace Damage | Spear Damage | Dagger Damage |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Iron | 5 | 5 | 4 | 3 |
| Gold | 3 | 3 | 2 | 1 |
| Diamond | 6 | 6 | 5 | 4 |

Items and Blocks
Knight Armor
A specialized set of armor that provides high protection but increases the player's weight, affecting stamina. It can be decorated with the Heraldry system.
Bottled Milk
While not a combat item, the mod adds the ability to bottle milk, allowing for stackable potion-effect removal, which is vital when facing enemies using Poison or Mystery arrows.
Chainmail Crafting
Mine & Blade: Battlegear 2 allows players to craft Chainmail armor using Iron Links. Iron Links are crafted by placing two iron ingots diagonally in the crafting grid.
