How do I get my first tape?
Kill a creeper with a pillager arrow (have a pillager shoot it) and it will drop a cassette, or search through naturally generated chests in structures. Once you have a tape, you can craft a Hollow Cassette by combining it with an Echo Shard to link it to a camera.
Why isn't my camera feed showing on the TV?
Make sure you've linked a Hollow Cassette to a View Finder first, then placed that cassette in the powered television block. The TV also needs a redstone signal to function—try placing a lever next to it and flipping it on.
Can I make a TV screen bigger than one block?
Yes, connect multiple television blocks together in a square pattern to create a larger screen of any square size. The video feed will stretch across all connected blocks as one unified display.
How do I pause the video on my TV?
Sneak (hold shift) and click directly on the television screen to pause it. Click again while sneaking to resume playback.
What do the colored glass panes do on cameras?
Place colored glass panes on your View Finder to tint the camera feed with that color. Different colors create different visual effects on your live video feed.
How do I automatically change tapes on my TV?
Use redstone components like hoppers and droppers connected to your television block to swap tapes automatically. The hopper can feed tapes into the TV, and redstone signals can trigger the dropper to eject them.
Can I zoom in with the camera?
Yes, when you look through a View Finder directly, you can scroll to zoom in and out to see distant details more clearly.
What happens if I put a mob head on a camera?
Mob heads on a View Finder add funny visual effects to the live camera feed, like filters or overlays that change how the video appears on your TV.
Does redstone signal strength affect the camera?
Yes, the strength of the redstone signal powering the TV changes the camera's view distance—stronger signals give you a wider or more distant view.
Can I use tapes that aren't linked to a camera?
Regular cassettes (not Hollow Cassettes) play pre-recorded animations on your TV and don't need to be linked to a camera. Each tape has its own unique animation.
