Do I need to configure anything, or does it work out of the box?
It works out of the box with sensible defaults, so you can install it and play immediately. The config is only needed if you want to change search distances, spacing, or minimum distances between structures.
Where is the config file and what can I change in it?
The config lives in your game or server config folder and lets you adjust search distances for maps and /locate, global structure spacing, and minimum distance between structures. Changes apply to structure generation and searches, so edit it before generating new chunks if you're changing spacing.
Why do my treasure maps still take a while to find structures?
Structure Essentials speeds up searches but doesn't make them instant — the search still has to scan chunks for a valid structure. If it's still slow, check your search distance setting in the config, since a very large radius means more chunks to scan.
