Frequently asked questions

How do I make a starter kit from my own inventory?
Run /starterkit set with cheat access enabled; the mod copies your current inventory into the config file and renames the old one so you can revert if needed. Whatever you're wearing and holding at that moment becomes the kit.
How do I give starter items to a specific inventory slot?
Use /starterkit set in-game rather than editing the file by hand, since that method preserves NBT tags and slot data. The config supports targeting main inventory slots, the offhand, and each armor slot individually.
Where is the starter kit config file located?
It's at /config/starterkit/starterkit.txt in your instance or server directory. You can edit it directly, but using /starterkit set in-game is easier because it handles NBT tags for you.
Will existing players get the starter kit when they log in?
Only if their inventory is completely empty and they log in near the spawn point for the first time since the mod was installed. Players who already joined before installation won't get items if they have anything in their inventory.
