Frequently asked questions

Do I need to do anything to enable the mod or does it work automatically?
The mod works automatically once installed—fishing will immediately start using the old loot table without any configuration needed. If you want to customize which items appear in the loot pool, you can edit the mod's config files, but this is optional.
What's the difference between fishing in this mod and vanilla fishing?
This mod restores the ability to catch enchanted items while fishing, which vanilla removed in newer versions. You'll also have a chance at treasure items that are no longer available through normal fishing in current Minecraft.
Can I still catch regular fish and junk items?
Yes, the mod keeps the full loot table intact—you'll still catch regular fish, junk, and treasure alongside enchanted items. The enchanted items are added back in, not replacing everything else.
Do I need a special fishing rod to get enchanted items?
No, any fishing rod works, including unenchanted ones. However, enchanting your fishing rod with Lure or Luck of the Sea will still improve your chances of better catches, just like in vanilla.
