Players often install MaLiLib expecting a standalone mod with its own features, then get confused when nothing appears in-game. MaLiLib is a library: it provides shared code that other mods use, and it adds nothing you can place, craft, or see on its own.
Why It Exists
Many mods need the same building blocks: a config system, keybind handling, GUI widgets, and event hooks. Instead of every mod reimplementing these, they depend on MaLiLib. That means when you install a mod that lists MaLiLib as a dependency, you are installing the shared foundation it needs to run.
What You Will Actually See
You will not see a MaLiLib block, item, or mob. What you will see is the config screens and keybinds that dependent mods expose, which are powered by MaLiLib under the hood. If a mod's config menu looks consistent with another mod's menu, that is MaLiLib doing its job.
When to Worry
If a dependent mod fails to load or crashes on startup, a missing or mismatched MaLiLib is a common cause. Make sure the version of MaLiLib you have matches what the dependent mod expects. If everything loads and your other mods work, MaLiLib is functioning correctly even though it is invisible.
