A common frustration is changing an option in a MaLiLib-powered config screen and finding it reverts after restarting the game. This is usually a save-location or permissions issue rather than a bug in the library itself.
Check Where Configs Are Written
MaLiLib writes config files into your Minecraft instance's config folder. If that folder is read-only, or if you are running the game from a location without write permission, changes will not persist. Verify the folder exists and is writable, then try changing an option again.
Confirm You Are Editing the Right Profile
If you use multiple instances or profiles, you may be editing a config in one instance and launching another. Make sure the instance you launched is the same one whose config folder you are inspecting. This is especially common when switching between modpacks.
Reload vs Restart
Some options apply live, while others are only read when a world loads or when the game starts. If a change appears to do nothing, close the world and reopen it, or restart the game entirely. If the value still reverts, delete the relevant config file and let the mod regenerate it with defaults, then reapply your changes one at a time to isolate which option is misbehaving.
