How do I craft a fish trap?

Craft a fish trap using wood and string. If you have Farmer's Delight installed, the recipe uses canvas instead of string. Check your crafting menu for the exact recipe based on your mods.

Where should I place my fish trap?

Place your trap fully underwater in a natural water biome like an ocean, river, or lake. The trap will not work in small man-made pools or non-biome water sources.

What bait should I use?

Bread works as a universal bait that catches any random fish. Different crops attract specific fish types, so experiment with what you have to target particular catches.

Why isn't my trap catching anything?

Make sure the trap is fully submerged in a natural water biome (ocean, river, or lake) and that you've placed bait inside it. Traps placed in artificial pools or above water will not work.

How long does it take to catch fish?
