Forestry Mod — Guide

Mechanics

Farming

Forestry provides advanced farming solutions, ranging from simple automated farms to complex multi-block structures called MultiFarms. These farms can be configured for various crops, including wheat, netherwart, pumpkins, melons, mushrooms, sugarcane, and cacti. The mod also introduces several resources essential for farming, such as Ash, Bituminous Peat, Bog Earth, Compost, Fertilizer, Humus, Mouldy Wheat, Mulch, and Peat.

Apiculture (Beekeeping)

Apiculture is a central mechanic in Forestry, allowing players to engage in bee breeding to discover new species with diverse traits and products. Bees can be housed in Bee Houses, Apiaries, or the larger multi-block Alveary. Different bee species yield various combs and other products like Honey Drop, Beeswax, Honeydew, Royal Jelly, and Pollen. Specialized tools like the Bee Smoker, Portable Analyzer, Scoop, Habitat Locator, Habitat Screen, and Imprinter are used in beekeeping. Apiarist's armor provides protection from bee stings.

Arboriculture (Tree Breeding)

Similar to bees, Forestry introduces a system for breeding trees. Players can cultivate various tree species that produce different types of wood and fruits. Tools such as the Grafter and Proven Grafter are used to collect saplings and pollen for breeding.

Lepidopterology (Butterfly Breeding)

Forestry also includes butterflies that can be caught and bred. These creatures add another layer to the mod's genetic mechanics.

Mail and Trade

The mod features a mail system allowing players to send items to each other. This involves Mailboxes, Stamp Collectors, Trade Stations, Letters, and various denominations of Stamps.

Energy Production

Forestry offers several methods for renewable energy generation. This includes various engines that convert biomass, biofuel, or peat into Redstone Flux (RF).

Genetics

The mod's genetic system is fundamental to apiculture, arboriculture, and lepidopterology. It involves analyzing and breeding species to combine desirable traits. The Analyzer and Escritoire are key machines for genetic research.

Trees

Forestry expands the variety of trees available, many of which can be bred for specific traits and fruits.
