Using the In-Game Toggle

Most builds of the Falling Tree mod ship with a keybind that lets you turn the collapse behaviour on or off without leaving the world. Open your controls menu and look for an entry related to the mod (often labelled something like "Toggle Falling Tree" or "Falling Tree Mode"). Bind it to a key you can reach easily. Pressing that key cycles the mod between enabled and disabled, and a small on-screen message usually confirms the new state.

Sneak-to-Bypass Behaviour

Even when the mod is enabled, you can usually prevent a full-tree collapse by holding your sneak key while breaking the base log. This is the standard way to harvest a single log from a tree you want to keep standing — for example, when pruning a decorative tree or gathering one block for crafting. Release sneak and the next base log you break will fell the whole tree again.

Checking the Current State

If you are unsure whether the mod is active, break a single base log on a small tree and watch whether the rest of the trunk disappears. If only one log drops, the mod is either disabled or your sneak key is stuck. Rebind the toggle if the default key conflicts with another mod, and remember that the setting persists per world in most configurations.
