Finding the Config File
After running the game once with the mod installed, a configuration file is generated in your instance's config folder. Open it with any plain-text editor. The file contains options grouped by category — typically something like general behaviour, durability, and leaves. Save the file and restart the game (or use the in-game config screen if your mod loader provides one) for changes to take effect.
Common Options You Will Want to Change
- Sneak to bypass: toggles whether holding sneak prevents the full-tree collapse. Turn this off if you always want the whole tree to fall.
- Leaves behaviour: choose whether leaves are destroyed instantly, decay naturally, or are left untouched. Instant destruction is fastest but skips sapling drops from leaves.
- Tool durability: decide whether felling a large tree consumes durability per log or only once for the base block. Per-log is more balanced; once-per-tree is convenient for big builds.
- Axe requirement: restrict the collapse to axes only, so punching a log with your hand does not trigger it.
Testing Your Changes
After editing, load a fresh world or a creative test area and chop a small oak. Confirm that leaves, durability, and sneak behaviour match what you set. If something looks wrong, revert the file to its previous state and change one option at a time.
