Understand What Mobs Attack
Epic Siege Mod mobs target the weakest link between them and you. They prefer soft blocks, doors, and gaps. They also stack and bridge. A defense that only stops walking mobs will fail against digging and towering.
Layered Defense Design
- Outer shell of hard
blocks. Obsidian, iron
blocks, or deep stone layers slow digging dramatically. Avoid wood, dirt, and glass on any exterior face. - No doors, no windows. Replace entrances with a piston-less airlock: two solid
blocks you break and replace, or a drop shaft with water at the bottom. - Vertical separation. Put your living space high up or deep down, not at ground level. Mobs that can bridge horizontally still struggle to bridge upward indefinitely if you remove nearby build materials.
- Clear the approach. Remove terrain, trees, and
blocks mobs could use as scaffolding within a wide radius. Flat, empty ground gives them nothing to stack on. - Interior lighting and sealing. Light every interior block and seal ceilings; mobs that breach a wall should not find an unlit room to spawn in.
Testing Your Base
Before trusting it, spawn hostile mobs outside and watch. If they reach you, find the path they used and patch that specific weakness. Iterate rather than rebuilding from scratch.
