Why Ping Breaks Normal Takeoff

On vanilla, taking off from the ground requires a jump and a rocket use timed closely together. With high ping, the server processes those inputs out of sync, so the rocket often fires before or after the jump registers and you just stand there. This mod removes the timing requirement by letting a single rocket use start flight directly.

Practical Tips

  • Keep the rocket in your main hand at all times while traveling, so you can launch the instant you land.
  • Click once and pause briefly. Spamming clicks can queue multiple uses and waste rockets.
  • Aim at open air rather than a block, since block interactions can add extra server round-trips.
  • Take off from flat, open terrain where you have room to climb before hitting obstacles.

Recovering Mid-Flight

If a rocket fails to register while you are already gliding, you will simply lose altitude. Point your view slightly upward and fire again; the mod does not interfere with normal in-air rocket boosting.

Landing and Relaunching

When you touch down, you can immediately fire another rocket to relaunch without jumping. This makes repeated short hops across terrain much smoother on laggy connections.
