The Basic Takeoff

With this mod installed, you no longer need to jump before firing a rocket. The mod watches for a specific input: you use a firework rocket while standing on solid ground, and it launches you straight into elytra flight.

1. Equip your elytra in the chestplate slot.

2. Hold a firework rocket in your main hand.

3. Stand on any solid block with open air in front of or above you.

4. Aim at an empty space (a block face or open air) and use the rocket as you normally would.

Instead of the rocket fizzling because you are not gliding, the mod triggers flight and the rocket propels you forward. You skip the awkward hop entirely.

Why Aiming Matters

You still need a valid target for the rocket use action. Pointing at open air or a nearby block face works; pointing at a block you cannot interact with may not. If nothing happens, adjust your crosshair slightly and try again.

After Takeoff

Once airborne, control is identical to normal elytra flight: steer with your look direction, and fire more rockets to gain speed or altitude. The mod only changes the moment of launch, not how you fly afterward.
