New Blocks

Deadly World adds several functional blocks that facilitate its trap mechanics. These can also be used by players in their own builds.

Wall Pressure Plates

The most iconic addition of the mod, these function exactly like standard pressure plates but are mounted on the sides of blocks. They are triggered by players, mobs, and sometimes items.

  • Stone Wall Pressure Plate: Requires a player or mob to step against the wall.
  • Wooden Wall Pressure Plate: Can be triggered by players, mobs, or projectiles (arrows).
  • Gold/Iron Wall Pressure Plates: Function as weighted pressure plates, outputting signal strength based on the number of entities touching the wall.

Hidden Spawners

These blocks look identical to natural Stone, Dirt, Gravel, or Sand but contain a mob spawner inside. They do not emit the standard fire particles of a vanilla spawner until they are active, making them extremely difficult to detect without careful observation.

Infested Stone

While vanilla Minecraft includes Silverfish-infested stone (Monster Eggs) primarily in Strongholds, Deadly World significantly increases their frequency in the general world. They generate in veins similar to coal or iron, leading to unexpected swarms while mining.

Mob Spawner Variants

The mod modifies how spawners generate, often placing them in "deadly" configurations. These spawners are not limited to dungeons and can be found embedded in cave floors or ceilings.

Mob Type Spawner Behavior
Zombies Often found in groups of 2-3 spawners to create overwhelming hordes.
Skeletons Placed in high positions to allow them to fire down on players.
Spiders Frequently paired with cobweb-generating hazards.
Silverfish Hidden in the floor to trigger when a player stands still to mine.
Cave Spiders Found in cramped tunnels, often near Potion Traps.

Crafting Recipes

Most items in Deadly World are intended for world generation, but Wall Pressure Plates are craftable for player use.

Result Ingredients Pattern
Wooden Wall Pressure Plate 2x Any Planks Vertical Column (2 blocks)
Stone Wall Pressure Plate 2x Stone Vertical Column (2 blocks)
Iron Wall Pressure Plate 2x Iron Ingots Vertical Column (2 blocks)
Gold Wall Pressure Plate 2x Gold Ingots Vertical Column (2 blocks)

Note: In some versions, placing a standard pressure plate in a crafting grid will convert it into its Wall variant.
