How the Chains Work

Natural sag (catenary)

A connected chain does not stretch as a straight line. It hangs in a catenary curve — the same shape a real rope or chain makes under its own weight — so longer spans dip lower in the middle and short spans stay taut.

Solid collision

Placed chains are solid. Players and mobs bump into them instead of walking straight through, which makes them useful as low fences, bridge railings, or paddock dividers.

Branching from one knot

A single chain knot can hold several chains at once, so one corner post can send chains out in multiple directions — perfect for T-junctions and enclosed borders.

Chain variety

The mod works with the vanilla Iron Chain and also supports other chain-style items, so builds that add different chain types can mix looks and colors along the same railing.
