How to Build and Light the Blue Skies Portal

Gathering the Portal Frame

To reach the Everbright and Everdawn dimensions, you first need to construct a portal frame. Craft the frame blocks using materials you gather in the Overworld — the mod adds its own portal frame block that you place in a rectangular arrangement, similar in shape to a Nether portal but made from the mod's dedicated frame blocks. Leave the interior empty.

Activating the Portal

Once the frame is complete, you need to activate it. The activation method uses a specific item rather than flint and steel. Check the Blue Journal you receive when starting — it documents the exact activation item and recipe. Right-click the interior of the frame with the activation item to light the portal. A swirling portal surface will appear.

Choosing Your Destination

Blue Skies has two dimensions: Everbright (a bright, daylight-themed realm) and Everdawn (a darker, twilight-themed realm). The portal you build and how you activate it determines which dimension you enter. If you want to visit the other dimension, you will need to build a separate portal configured for it. Step through and you will be transported. Bring basic gear, food, and a way to get back — the return portal generates on the other side.
