Blue Skies Mod FAQ

Build a frame out of the mod's portal blocks (the same material used for the portal itself), then light the inside with a Portal Lighter or the appropriate ignition item. The frame shape and ignition method are covered in the How to Build and Light the Blue Skies Portal guide.

Once the frame is built, use the mod's portal-lighting item on the empty space inside the frame. If it won't light, check that every frame block is the correct portal block and that the interior is completely empty.

Craft or find the portal materials, build and light the portal, then step through to reach the Everbright or Everdawn dimension. Your first priorities are gathering the local wood, stone, and ore so you can craft tier-appropriate gear.

Gather the dimension's basic resources and craft a starter set of tools and armor before exploring dungeons. Then seek out structures like the Wizard Tower and dungeons, which gate the mod's progression.

Place the Alchemy Table and interact with it while holding an Alchemy Scroll to open its interface. The scroll determines which recipes you can brew, so collect more scrolls to unlock additional alchemy options.

Each tier is gated behind materials found in the mod's dimensions and structures, so you need to explore further and defeat tougher mobs to unlock the next set. Follow the gear tier guide and don't skip tiers, since later content assumes you have the previous tier's equipment.

Wizard Towers and dungeons generate as structures in the mod's dimensions; explore outward from your portal and watch for distinct building silhouettes. Dungeons are typically locked and require keys or keystones found elsewhere in the dimension.

Blinding Dungeon Keys and Blinding Keystones are used to unlock dungeon doors and open gated areas within the mod's structures. You'll need to find the matching key or keystone for the specific dungeon you're trying to enter.

Blue Skies adds two full dimensions with their own mobs and structures, so it will increase world-gen and entity load, especially on lower-end machines. Compatibility with other dimension and world-gen mods varies, so test in a backup world before committing.

Everbright and Everdawn are the mod's two parallel dimensions, each with its own biomes, mobs, ores, and structures. You'll need to visit both to collect all the materials required for full gear progression.
