World Generation and Mechanics

The Depths

SteamCraft 2 modifies world generation to include "The Depths" features. This includes the spawning of Fissures—deep, narrow chasms that expose rare ores—and Tinted Rocks, which can be broken to find hidden treasures or unstable Dynamite.

Tea and Consumables

• Tea: A core part of the Victorian experience. Players can grow tea plants, dry the leaves, and brew various types of tea. Tea provides minor hunger restoration and can remove certain negative status effects.
• Coffee: Provides a temporary Speed and Haste buff but may lead to a "crash" effect once it wears off.

Environmental Effects

• Smog: In areas with heavy industrial activity (many active boilers), Smog can accumulate. Smog reduces visibility and can cause a minor "Coughing" debuff to players without proper headgear (like the Goggle Module).
