Break the crops as you normally would
With the mod installed, simply walk up to a mature crop and break it. Instead of leaving bare farmland behind, the mod takes one of the seeds that dropped from that crop and immediately plants it back into the same farmland block. You do not need to right-click with seeds, and you do not need any special tool. Any tool (or your bare hand) works, since the replanting happens automatically after the block breaks.
Sweep across the whole farm
Because each crop replants itself from its own drops, you can run down a row breaking every mature plant in one continuous motion. The replanted crops will be the seed stage, so they will need to grow again before the next harvest. This makes repeated harvesting much faster than manually re-tilling and re-planting.
Keep an eye on your inventory
Replanting consumes one seed per crop from the drops. If a crop somehow drops no seed (for example, a crop broken before it is fully mature), there is nothing to replant with and the farmland will be left empty. Make sure crops are fully grown before harvesting so every block gets replanted.
Combine with a hoe or fortune tool
Using a tool that increases seed drops gives you spare seeds beyond the one used for replanting, so you still collect a surplus while the field stays planted.
