Grow cocoa on jungle logs

Cocoa beans attach to the sides of jungle logs (or jungle wood).

Break the mature pod

When you break a fully grown cocoa pod, the mod uses one of the dropped cocoa beans to replant a new pod on the same side of the same jungle log. This means you can harvest a whole wall or trunk of cocoa and it will re-seed itself automatically, exactly like wheat or carrots.

Harvest a whole tree

Walk around the trunk breaking each mature pod in turn. Each one replants from its own drop, so the tree stays covered in growing pods. This is handy for large cocoa farms built on stacked jungle logs.

Disable replanting when you want to clear

Hold sneak while breaking to stop the replant. This lets you strip all the cocoa off a tree without leaving new pods behind — useful when moving your farm or harvesting everything for crafting cookies and dye.

Keep in mind

Cocoa only grows on jungle wood, so the replant always targets the same log face it came from. If a pod is broken before it matures it may not drop a bean, leaving that spot empty; harvest only fully grown pods to keep the farm self-sustaining.
