Productive Bees FAQ

Craft a Bee Cage and use it to capture a vanilla bee, then place the bee into a Bee Nest or an Advanced Beehive to begin producing combs. From there, breed bees together to unlock new species that generate specific resources.

Place two bees of the same species inside a hive or nest with the correct flower nearby, and they will breed and produce offspring. Some species require specific flowers or conditions, so check the bee's requirements before setting up a breeding pair.

Bees produce honeycomb and specialty combs inside their hive, which you harvest and process in a centrifuge to extract resources like honey, wax, or metal nuggets. Different bee species yield different combs, so breed a variety to get the resources you need.

Place the Modular Centrifuge and insert combs into its input slot, then supply power if required and it will process them into honey and other outputs. You can expand it with additional centrifuge blocks to process more combs at once.

The Modular Beehive is a multiblock structure you build by placing beehive blocks together, and it houses multiple bees at once for larger-scale production. Each bee inside works independently, so filling it with high-value species increases your output.

Use a Bee Cage to pick up a bee and carry it to a new location, then release it into a hive or nest. You can also use a Bee Bomb to relocate or capture multiple bees at once.

A common mistake is not providing the correct flower or block for a bee species, which stops it from working or breeding. Another is forgetting that some bees need specific conditions like temperature or dimension, so always check requirements before placing them.

Productive Bees is a Java Edition mod and is not available for Bedrock Edition. Bedrock players cannot install or run this mod.

Productive Bees is included in the All the Mods 10 modpack, where it works alongside other tech and magic mods. You can use its bees to generate resources that feed into other mods' machines and crafting chains.

Large numbers of active bees and hives can cause lag, especially if many are ticking at once. Reduce the number of active hives, use the Modular Beehive to consolidate bees, and avoid placing too many nests in one area.
