Oreberries Mod — Guide
Mechanics
To successfully farm oreberries, players must adhere to specific environmental requirements.
Light Level Requirements
Oreberry bushes are cave-dwelling plants and thrive in the dark. * Placement: Metallic oreberry bushes can only be placed in areas with a light level of 12 or lower. * Growth: For a bush to progress through its growth stages and produce berries, the light level must be below 10. If the area is too bright, the bush will remain stagnant. * Exception: Essence Berry Bushes are unique; they do not have light level constraints and can grow in full daylight or total darkness.
Growth Stages
- Small: The bush is a small, leafy sprout.
- Medium: The bush grows to nearly a full block size but has no visible berries.
- Mature: Small metallic or glowing dots appear on the bush texture. At this stage, the bush can be harvested.
Automation
Because berries are harvested via right-click, they are highly compatible with automation mods. Machines like the Autonomous Activator (Thermal Expansion) or the Harvester (MineFactory Reloaded/Industrial Foregoing) can be used to create fully automated ore and XP farms.
World Generation
Oreberry bushes generate naturally during world creation. They are found exclusively in underground caverns and ravines.
- Location: They typically spawn attached to the ceiling or floor of caves.
- Clusters: They often appear in small clusters of 2 to 5 bushes.
- Rarity: Gold and Essence bushes are significantly rarer than Iron or Copper bushes.
- Villager Trading: In some configurations, the Tinker Villager (found in villages) may offer oreberry bushes in exchange for emeralds, providing an alternative way to obtain them without extensive caving.
