Understanding Nitrogen as a Library Mod
Nitrogen is a library mod, not a content mod. It exists to hold shared internal code and helper tools used by
the Aether family of mods, so each
companion mod does not need to copy the same background files. When you install a mod that depends on Nitrogen, it loads automatically and works silently behind the scenes.
Because it adds no blocks, items, or visual changes, you will not see anything new in your world after installing it. That is expected behavior, not a bug. If you spot Nitrogen in your mod list, it means another installed mod requires it to function.
Do not remove Nitrogen on its own. If you delete it while a dependent mod is still installed, that mod may fail to load or crash. To remove it safely, first remove every mod that relies on it, then delete Nitrogen. If you are unsure which mods depend on it, leave it in place — it costs nothing to keep.
