NetherX Mod FAQ

NetherX is a survival-focused expansion for the Minecraft Nether that adds an Aether-like progression system, the Execration corruption mechanic, and sustainable ways to get water in the Nether. It adds new ores, mobs, tools, armor, a new liquid, and more while trying to still feel like vanilla.

NetherX adds three new Nether ores: Ichorite, Venomite, and Necromite. Ichorite is common and drops Ichorite Shards, Venomite is the iron-tier ore based around poison, and Necromite is the rarest and based around withering.

NetherX adds Gluttons, Blazing Chargers, Nether Spiders, and Pigmen. Gluttons eat food from your inventory, Blazing Chargers launch you into the air, Nether Spiders are like Cave Spiders with more poison but less HP, and Pigmen are converted from Zombie Pigmen.

Ichorite Shards, dropped by mining Ichorite Ore, can be used to obtain water in the Nether. The mod is specifically designed to add a way to get water in the underworld.

Throw a Potion of Weakness on a naturally spawning Zombie Pigman, then give it a Golden Carrot to start the conversion into a Pigman. Zombie Pigmen spawned with a spawn egg cannot be converted.

Venomite is the iron of the Nether and is based around poison. A Venomite Bucket can hold poison, a Venomite Sword gives poison damage to whatever you hit, and Venomite Armor gives poison immunity.

Necromite is the diamond of the Nether and the rarest ore added by NetherX, based around withering. A Necromite Sword gives the withering effect to whatever you hit, and Necromite Armor gives withering immunity, making it useful against the Wither.

Have poisonous potatoes in your inventory with no other food or sugar, then let the Glutton hit you. It will eat the potato and get poisoned.

Soul Glass is obtained by smelting Soul Sand. Besides making glass bottles and windows, when powered, it and all soul glass blocks above it can be walked through.

No, wood is not a renewable resource in the Nether with NetherX because Vilewood Trees have no saplings. They can be made into planks, sticks, chests, doors, and wooden bowls, so use them wisely.
