Create a Hybrid Resource Pack

You can blend Gravel GUI with vanilla textures by creating a layered resource pack setup:

1. Duplicate the Gravel GUI resource pack folder

2. Rename it to something like "Gravel GUI - Partial"

3. Delete texture folders for screens you want vanilla (e.g., remove gui/container for chest screens)

4. Place this modified pack *above* Gravel GUI in your resource pack list

5. Vanilla textures will show through for deleted folders

Selective Texture Replacement

For finer control:

1. Identify which texture files control specific screens (e.g., container/generic_54.png for chests)

2. In your modified pack, keep only those files you want to replace

3. Delete files for screens you prefer vanilla

4. Test each screen type after changes

Organize by Screen Type

Common screens to selectively restore:

  • Crafting tables – check container/crafting_table.png
  • Furnaces – look for container/furnace.png
  • Chests – find container/generic_54.png
  • Pause menu – locate pause_menu.png

Testing

After setup, visit each screen type to confirm which use Gravel GUI and which remain vanilla. Adjust your pack's file structure as needed.
