How do I make my first sign portal?
Place a sign on any block, then write the destination on it. If the format is correct and you have permission, the text turns green and right-clicking the sign teleports you.
Why is my sign text red instead of green?
Red means the sign is either set up incorrectly or you lack the permission to use it. Double-check the destination name and make sure you have the multiverse signportal permission node.
Can I put a sign portal on a Nether portal to change where it goes?
Yes. Placing a sign on a standard Nether portal redirects it so players who enter the portal arrive at the destination written on the sign instead of the normal Nether location.
How do I redirect my Nether portal to a custom world?
Place a sign on the Nether portal block and write the target Multiverse world or destination on it. Once the text turns green, entering the portal sends you there.
Do sign portals work across different worlds?
Yes, that is the main purpose of the plugin. You can send players to any Multiverse world or destination by writing that destination on the sign.
What permission do I need to use sign portals?
You need the sign portal permission node (multiverse.signportal or similar) to create and use them. Without it, the sign text stays red and right-clicking does nothing.
Can I build a fast travel hub with multiple sign portals?
Yes. Place several signs in one area, each pointing to a different destination, so players can right-click the sign for the place they want to go.
Do sign portals work with other portal plugins or mods?
They are designed to work alongside Multiverse and standard Nether portals. Other portal plugins may conflict if they also try to control the same portal blocks.
Will having lots of sign portals lag my server?
Sign portals themselves are lightweight since they only trigger on right-click or portal entry. Performance impact is usually minimal unless you have an extremely large number of them being used constantly.
