Frequently asked questions
Do the eyes actually attack me or deal damage?
No, the eyes are purely atmospheric and will not harm you in any way. They exist only to create a horror atmosphere as you explore in darkness.
Why can't I see the eyes very well at night?
The eyes are designed to be subtle in vanilla Minecraft's default lighting. Install a shader pack that darkens the night sky to make the glowing eyes much more visible and create the intended horror effect.
How do I get rid of the eyes if they're too scary?
You can disable the mod entirely through your mod manager, or check the mod's configuration file for an option to turn off the eye spawning mechanic.
Can I kill the eyes?
In Creative Mode, you can kill the eyes with a single hit. In Survival Mode, the eyes cannot be killed and will continue to follow you.
Do the eyes follow me everywhere or only in certain biomes?
The eyes appear in darkness, so they will follow you in caves, at night, and in any dark areas you explore, regardless of biome.
Will this mod work with my shader pack?
Yes, the mod is designed to work alongside shader packs and actually performs best when combined with shaders that enhance darkness and lighting effects.
Do the eyes spawn indoors or only outside?
The eyes spawn in any sufficiently dark area, including inside buildings and caves, as long as the light level is low enough.
Will the eyes affect my game's performance?
The eyes are lightweight entities, so performance impact should be minimal on most systems, especially compared to other atmospheric mods.
Can I see the eyes in the Nether or End?
The eyes spawn based on darkness levels, so they can appear in the Nether and End if those dimensions are dark enough, though the effect is most noticeable in the Overworld at night.
Do the eyes have any sounds or is it just visual?
The mod focuses on the visual effect of glowing eyes; there are no associated sounds, making it a purely visual atmospheric addition.
