How do I get my first mob sample?
Craft a Scraper or Syringe and hit any mob to collect their cells. The more you hit a mob, the more samples you'll gather from it, so don't be afraid to strike multiple times before it dies.
What do I need to power my laboratory machines?
Place a Coal Generator next to your laboratory blocks and supply it with fuel like coal or charcoal. The generator will automatically power nearby machines within range.
Why am I getting negative traits when I inject genes?
Raw samples sometimes contain harmful mutations or contaminations. Run your samples through a Blood Purifier before processing, or use the DNA Decryptor carefully to filter out unwanted traits before infusing them into a plasmid.
Can I remove a gene I already injected into myself?
Yes, use an Anti-Plasmid or the Blood Purifier to cleanse your system of unwanted traits. You can also process new genes to overwrite or replace existing ones depending on your setup.
How do I give genes to my tamed pets?
Prepare a plasmid with the gene you want using the Plasmid Infuser, then use a Full Syringe on your tamed pet or place them in the Plasmid Injector. Pets can hold multiple genes just like you can.
What's the order of machines I should use to process samples?
Follow this chain: Cell Analyzer (scan raw samples) → DNA Extractor (isolate DNA) → DNA Decryptor (decode genes) → Plasmid Infuser (bind to plasmid) → Plasmid Injector (inject into yourself or pets).
Do I need special tools to collect samples from modded mobs?
No, a standard Scraper or Syringe works on both vanilla and modded mobs. However, some mobs may yield different or rarer samples, so experiment with different mob types to find unique genes.
What do the Surgical Precision and Delicate Touch enchantments do?
These enchantments improve your sample harvesting efficiency, helping you collect more cells or higher-quality samples from mobs when you use scrapers or syringes.
How does the Slimy Death gene work in combat?
When you have the Slimy Death gene active, Support Slimes will spawn automatically during fights to assist you against hostile mobs. They fight alongside you until the combat ends or they're defeated.
Can I use the Incubator to create new mobs or just grow samples?
The Incubator hatches cloned cells and cultures modified tissue over time for laboratory use. It's primarily for processing and growing biological material rather than spawning new mobs.
