Why You'd Want This
Neat draws health bars over every nearby entity by default, which is great in a mob farm but noisy when you're trying to read nameplates on villagers, look at your pets, or just want a cleaner screen in a crowded area. The mod lets you filter which entities get bars at all.
Using the Entity Filter
Open the Neat configuration screen from the mod list (or via the in-game config keybind if you've set one). Look for the section that controls which entities are displayed. You'll find options to show or hide bars for categories like passive mobs, hostile mobs, players, and bosses, plus a blacklist/whitelist area where you can add specific entity IDs.
To hide bars for one specific creature type, add its entity ID to the exclusion list. For example, adding the villager entity ID stops bars from appearing over villagers while leaving everything else untouched. If you'd rather start from nothing and only show bars for a few
things, switch to whitelist mode and add only the entities you care about.
Changes apply immediately in most cases; if a bar lingers, walk out of range and back so the entity is re-evaluated. Combine this with the max-distance setting so distant entities don't clutter the overlay either.
