Understanding Each Block's Job
Button Blocks are the call buttons: a player presses one to send the elevator to that floor. Display Blocks are readouts that show the current level, so riders know where the cabin is before they step in. Using them together gives you a complete floor-calling system rather than a blind one.
Placing Buttons at Every Floor
Put a
Button Block at each level you want served, positioned where a player can easily reach it from the hallway or landing. Each button corresponds to its own floor, so the button on level two calls the cabin to level two. If a floor has no button, players there cannot summon the elevator.
Reading the Display
Mount a
Display Block beside each button or above each doorway. As the cabin moves, the display updates to reflect the floor it is passing or resting on. This lets players waiting on an upper floor see whether the elevator is coming up or sitting below. When buttons and displays are paired on every level, the system behaves like a real building elevator: press to call, glance to see where it is, then board when it arrives.
