Laying Out the Shaft
Place Elevator Blocks in a vertical column to form the shaft the cabin will travel through. The blocks define the path, so keep the column continuous between the floors you want to connect. Build the column tall enough to reach every floor you plan to serve, and make sure nothing solid blocks the interior space the platform moves through.
Adding the Cabin and Controls
Place a platform or floor of Elevator Blocks where you want the moving cabin to sit, then attach a
Button Block at each floor so players can call the elevator. Put a
Display Block near the entrance of each level so riders can see which floor the cabin is currently on. Buttons are what trigger movement, so every floor needs at least one within reach.
Testing the Elevator
Press a Button Block and watch the cabin travel along the
Elevator Block column. If it stops short or refuses to move, check that the column is unbroken and that no foreign blocks sit inside the shaft. Once it runs smoothly between two floors, repeat the Button and Display setup on each additional level. Keep the shaft clear of decorations that could interfere with the cabin's path.
