Frequently asked questions

What's the first ore I should mine to start upgrading my gear?
Look for Steel ore in the Overworld—it's the first tier material after Iron and generates at various heights. Once you have Steel ore, smelt it and use a Smithing Table with a Steel upgrade template to upgrade your Iron tools and armor.
Do I have to upgrade my gear in a specific order?
Yes, the mod requires sequential upgrades—you must follow the material progression tree, so you can't skip directly from Iron to Diamond, for example. Each upgrade requires the correct template and the next tier's material in the Smithing Table.
Where do I find upgrade templates?
Upgrade templates are crafted or found as loot in the world; check your crafting recipes for the specific template you need based on which material tier you're upgrading to. Some templates may also be obtained by exploring structures or trading.
Can I use elytra wings with my chestplate at the same time?
Only if you have the MUT: ATS addon installed, which allows you to combine chestplates with elytra wings for aerial combat. Without the addon, you must choose between wearing a chestplate or equipping elytra wings.
What's the point of the special beef item?
The beef item functions as a durable, enchantable tool that can be used for gathering or combat, offering an alternative to traditional weapons and tools with its own durability and enchantment properties.
Are there ores in the Nether I need to mine?
Yes, the mod generates new ores in the Nether as well as the Overworld, so you'll need to explore both dimensions to collect all the materials needed for the full upgrade tree.
Do all the new materials have complete tool sets?
Yes, every new material added by the mod includes a full set of basic tools (sword, pickaxe, axe, hoe, shovel) plus special weapons like shields, bows, crossbows, maces, spears, and tridents.
What happens if I use the wrong template or material in the Smithing Table?
The Smithing Table won't allow the upgrade to go through if the template and material don't match the next tier in the progression—you'll need to use the correct combination for your current gear tier.
Can I enchant the new tools and weapons like vanilla gear?
Yes, all the new tools, weapons, and armor can be enchanted using enchanting tables, anvils, and other standard enchantment methods just like vanilla items.
Does this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod adds significant content but is generally optimized for stable gameplay; performance depends on your system and other mods installed, so monitor your FPS if you're running multiple mods together.
