Getting Started

Before you can pick up a villager, you'll need the appropriate capture item from Easy Villagers. Make sure you have it in your inventory and that the villager you want to capture is nearby.

Capturing the Villager

1. Stand facing the custom villager you want to store

2. Right-click on them with the Easy Villagers capture item

3. The villager will be converted into an item form and added to your inventory

4. The item will display the villager's custom model, name, and appearance directly in your inventory slots

Storing Safely

Once captured, you can:

  • Keep the villager item in your inventory for transport
  • Place it in chests, shulker boxes, or other storage containers
  • Store multiple villager items together without risk of data loss or duplication

Unlike vanilla villager mechanics, this mod ensures all personality traits, family relationships, and custom appearance data remain intact while the villager is in item form. You can safely move and store your townsfolk without worrying about them resetting to default NPCs or losing their unique characteristics.
