Why Magnum Torches Suit Farms

Mob farms rely on controlled spawning. A Magnum Torch lets you shut down unwanted spawns in a wide zone while leaving your actual farm area untouched. This is useful for keeping your base, villager trading hall, or storage area free of creepers and other threats without lighting up every block.

Setting Up a Safe Zone

1. Identify the area you want protected—your trading hall, storage room, or main base footprint.

2. Place a Magnum Torch near the center of that area, ideally elevated so nothing blocks its coverage.

3. If your farm is nearby, make sure the torch's radius does not overlap the farm's spawning chamber, or it will suppress the spawns you want.

4. Test by standing in the protected area at night and watching for spawns.

Common Mistakes

  • Placing the torch too close to a mob farm and accidentally disabling it.
  • Assuming the torch removes existing mobs—it does not, so clear them manually.
  • Forgetting that the torch only affects hostile mobs, not passive animals or villagers.

Adjust torch positions until your safe zone and your farm both behave the way you want.
