Frequently asked questions

How do I get my first dinosaur?
You need to find fossils (either by mining or exploring), use a fossil cleaning station to prepare them, then sequence the DNA using a DNA sequencer. Once you have viable DNA, place it in an incubator with the proper temperature and humidity settings to hatch an egg.
What's the difference between extracting and sequencing DNA?
Extraction removes raw DNA from fossils or other sources, while sequencing refines and stabilizes that DNA so it can actually be used to create viable eggs. Sequenced DNA has a much higher hatch rate than raw extracted DNA.
Why won't my dinosaur eggs hatch?
Eggs require specific temperature and humidity ranges depending on the species—check the incubator's display to see if conditions match what that dinosaur needs. If conditions are wrong, the egg won't progress; if left in bad conditions too long, it may become unviable.
How do I tame a dinosaur so it doesn't attack me?
Most dinosaurs can be tamed by feeding them their preferred food items repeatedly until they show signs of loyalty (usually a visual indicator). Once tamed, they'll follow you and won't attack, though some aggressive species are harder to tame than others.
Can I breed dinosaurs together to make new ones?
No—dinosaurs don't breed naturally. Instead, you create new dinosaurs by hybridizing DNA from different species using a DNA combiner or hybridization machine, then incubating the resulting egg.
What happens if I try to hybridize two incompatible dinosaurs?
The machine will either reject the combination or produce an unstable hybrid that may have unpredictable behavior, poor stats, or a low hatch rate. Experiment carefully or consult guides on which species combine well.
Do dinosaurs need food and care after hatching?
Yes—dinosaurs need to be fed their species-appropriate food regularly or they'll become hostile or starve. Different dinosaurs eat different foods, so check what each one prefers.
Are there any dinosaurs I should avoid early game?
Large carnivores like T-Rex and Indominus Rex are extremely dangerous and should be avoided until you have good armor, weapons, and understand how to contain them. Start with smaller or herbivorous species.
Can I use vehicles to fight or control dinosaurs?
Vehicles in this mod are primarily for transportation and exploration rather than combat, though some can be equipped with weapons. They're more useful for escaping dangerous dinosaurs or traveling long distances safely.

With 97+ creatures and complex AI, the mod can impact performance depending on your system and how many dinosaurs you spawn. Reduce render distance, limit the number of active dinosaurs, or use optimization mods if you experience slowdowns.
