Placing and Powering the Block

Place the Disenchanter like any other block. Most versions of this mod require no fuel or power source to operate — the block simply needs to be placed and interacted with. If your version includes a GUI, right-click the block to open it; otherwise, right-clicking while holding the enchanted item may be the interaction.

Removing the Enchantment

1. Hold the enchanted item you want to strip.

2. Right-click the Disenchanter (or open its interface and place the item in the input slot).

3. The enchantment is removed from the item, leaving the base item intact.

4. Collect any experience or enchantment output the block produces, depending on your version.

Key things to know:

  • The item itself is not destroyed — only the enchantment is stripped. A Sharpness sword becomes a plain sword.
  • Some versions return experience orbs or store the enchantment for later transfer; check whether a secondary slot or output appears.
  • If the block does nothing, confirm the item is actually enchanted — unenchanted items pass through unchanged.
  • Curses and certain enchantments may behave differently depending on config; test with a cheap item first.

This is the core use case: salvaging enchanted gear you don't want so you can reuse the base item or recover value.
