Understand the mechanic

Crops Love Rain only speeds growth while a crop is actually being rained on. A crop under a roof, inside a greenhouse, or covered by any solid block above it will not count as rained on, even if it is raining everywhere else. The bonus is applied per crop, so partial coverage means partial benefit.

Set up your farm

1. Clear any blocks directly above your farmland so the sky is open to each crop.

2. Avoid placing torches, trapdoors, slabs, or leaves over the field — anything that blocks sky access can cancel the rain bonus.

3. Keep your water source and irrigation intact; the mod changes growth speed, not hydration.

4. If you use a greenhouse for other reasons, leave a section of the roof open or move rain-sensitive crops outside.

When it rains

Once rain starts, affected crops tick faster than normal. You do not need to do anything — no item, no activation. Just make sure you are not standing on or over the crops in a way that blocks sky access, and that no player-placed cover has been added since you last checked. If growth seems unchanged, walk the field and look straight up from each crop to confirm open sky.
