How do I know if rain is actually speeding up my crops?
Watch a crop that's fully grown-adjacent and compare its growth particles or stage changes during rain versus clear weather. If you have the config open, you can also enable any debug or logging option the mod provides to confirm rain growth is being applied.
Does rain growth work on crops that aren't fully hydrated?
Rain still counts as moisture for farmland in most setups, but the growth bonus is separate from hydration. If your farmland is dry and the crop is wilting, fix hydration first, then let the rain do its job.
Do I need to be near my farm for rain growth to happen?
Crop growth only ticks in loaded chunks, so if you wander far away the rain bonus won't apply until you return. Keep your farm within your simulation distance or use a chunk loader if you want it growing while you're elsewhere.
Does rain growth work in the Nether or End?
No, because those dimensions don't have rain. The mod keys off actual rain weather, so you'll only see the bonus in dimensions where rain occurs.
Will this mod conflict with other farming or growth mods?
It generally plays fine with mods that add new crops, since it hooks into standard growth logic. Conflicts are most likely with mods that fully replace crop ticking or weather, so test in a copy of your world first.
Can I make rain growth apply to saplings, sugar cane, or other plants?
That depends on what the config exposes; some plant types are handled and others aren't. Check the config options for a list of affected blocks rather than assuming every growable thing benefits.
Why did my crops stop growing faster even though it's raining?
Common causes are the crop being in an unloaded chunk, the rain having just stopped, or a config setting that limits which crops get the bonus. Also check that nothing above the farm is blocking rain from reaching the plants.
Does the rain bonus stack with bone meal or growth potions?
Bone meal and similar instant-growth items apply their own effect on top of the rain bonus, so you can use both. The rain bonus affects natural ticking, not one-time growth items.
Can I turn off rain growth for specific crops or biomes?
Yes, if the config supports per-crop or per-biome toggles, you can exclude whatever you don't want boosted. Look through the config file for lists or filters before editing, and back it up first.
Does the mod hurt performance on a big farm?
The impact is usually small because it only changes growth speed rather than adding new ticking blocks. If you have thousands of crops and notice lag, check whether other mods are also touching crop ticks before blaming this one.
