Why Bonsai Pots Are Great for Automation
Because a
Bonsai Pot grows a tree without needing space, soil, or light, it is one of the easiest ways to farm wood, sticks, and saplings in a compact area. You can stack many pots in a single room and harvest them repeatedly.
Setting Up a Simple Farm
1. Craft several Bonsai Pots and place them in a row or grid on the floor.
2. Right-click each pot with the sapling of your choice. Oak is a good default because it drops apples and saplings alongside wood.
3. Growth happens automatically over time.
4. Right-click a mature pot to collect its drops. The pot resets and begins growing again from the same sapling type, so you do not need to replant.
For larger operations, connect hoppers beneath or beside the pots to pull items into chests. Some setups use an automated right-click mechanism (such as a dispenser or a modded block breaker) to harvest without you being present. Check what your modpack offers — the Bonsai Pot itself does not require power or fuel, so any redstone-triggered use will work.
Keep a stack of each sapling type handy so you can swap the tree in a pot whenever you want a different drop.
