Iris Shaders Mod — FAQ
Shader Pack Compatibility
Iris is compatible with the vast majority of shader packs originally created for the OptiFine 'Shaders Mod' core. This includes support for:
- Custom Uniforms: Allows shaders to read game data like weather, time, and player status.
- Buffer Management: Supports multiple render targets for complex post-processing effects.
- Texture Formats: Full support for LabPBR and OldPBR material standards, enabling realistic reflections and depth on blocks.
Recommended Shader Packs
While Iris supports most packs, the following are highly optimized for the Iris/Sodium pipeline: 1. Complementary Shaders: Offers a balance of performance and high-end visuals. 2. BSL Shaders: Known for a bright, clean aesthetic and high customization. 3. Sildur's Vibrant Shaders: Provides extensive compatibility with older hardware. 4. SEUS (Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders): For maximum realism and path-traced lighting effects.
