Ice and Fire Mod — Guide
Dragons
Dragons are the core of the mod. They are divided into three elements, each with unique habitats, breath attacks, and color variations.
Dragon Types
| Type | Breath Attack | Habitat | Colors |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fire Dragon | Fire Breath | Warm Biomes (Plains, Deserts) | Red, Bronze, Emerald, Gray |
| Ice Dragon | Frost Breath | Cold Biomes (Snowy Tundra, Glaciers) | Blue, White, Sapphire, Silver |
| Lightning Dragon | Lightning Breath | Savannas, Jungles, Badlands | Electric, Amethyst, Copper, Black |
Dragon Stages
Dragons grow through five distinct stages of life. Their size, health, and attack power increase significantly with each stage.
- Stage 1-2: Small, vulnerable, and found primarily in surface roosts.
- Stage 3: Medium-sized; capable of being ridden once tamed.
- Stage 4-5: Massive beasts found only in underground caverns. Only Stage 4 or 5 females drop Dragon Eggs.
Dragon Stats (Stage 5)
- Health: 500 - 800 HP
- Attack Damage: 20 - 30 (Bite/Claw)
- Drops: Dragon Scales, Dragon Bones, Dragon Heart, Dragon Flesh, Dragon Blood, Dragon Skull.
Dragon Taming and Care
To obtain a tamed dragon, a player must find a Stage 4 or 5 female dragon in an underground cavern, defeat it, and collect the egg it drops.
Hatching Eggs
- Fire Egg: Must be placed in the center of a fire. It will hatch when the fire burns out or after a set duration.
- Ice Egg: Must be placed in water that is surrounded by ice blocks. The water must freeze for the egg to hatch.
- Lightning Egg: Must be placed in the rain or during a thunderstorm.
Taming Mechanics
Once hatched, the baby dragon will recognize the player who is nearby as its owner. Tamed dragons can be commanded using a Dragon Staff to stay, wander, or follow.
- Feeding: Dragons eat meat (raw or cooked). To heal them, use Dragon Meal (crafted from bones and meat).
- Growth: Dragons grow naturally over time, but their growth can be accelerated using Dragon Meal or halted using Sickly Dragon Meal.
- Equipment: Tamed dragons can be equipped with Dragon Armor (Iron, Gold, Diamond, or Dragonsteel) and a Dragon Saddle for riding.
The Dragon Forge
The Dragon Forge is a multi-block structure required to create Dragonsteel.
Components: 1. Dragon Forge Core (Fire, Ice, or Lightning) 2. Dragon Forge Bricks (8 blocks) 3. Dragon Forge Bones (8 blocks) 4. Dragon Forge Aperture (1 block)
Operation: To use the forge, place Iron Ingots and a Dragon Heart of the corresponding type inside the GUI. A tamed dragon of Stage 4 or higher must be positioned next to the Aperture. When the dragon breathes into the aperture, the forge will process the iron into Dragonsteel Ingots.
