Enabling Automatic Backups
FTB Utilities includes an automatic backup system controlled through its configuration files. In the backup-related config you can turn backups on or off, choose how often they run, set how many backups are kept before old ones are deleted, and decide which files or folders are included. Because these are config options, the exact keys and defaults depend on your pack, so read the comments in the file rather than assuming values.
Where Backups Go and How to Restore
Backups are written to a backups folder inside your world or server directory. Each run creates a timestamped archive. To restore, stop the server or close the world first, then locate the backup you want, extract it, and replace the current world files with the extracted contents. Always make a copy of the current world before overwriting anything, in case the restore is not what you wanted.
Practical Tips
Schedule backups for a time when few players are online to reduce lag spikes. If your world is large, backups can take a while, so avoid running them too frequently. Test a restore on a copy of the world at least once so you know the procedure works before you actually need it.
