Opening the Claiming Map

FTB Utilities adds a claiming map you can open with its own keybind (check your Controls menu for the FTB Utilities category and bind it if it is unbound). The map shows the chunks around you as a grid. Left-clicking a chunk claims it for your team or yourself, and right-clicking unclaims it. Claimed chunks appear in your team's colour.

Managing Claims

You can only claim chunks that are adjacent to chunks you already own, so expand outward from your first claim rather than grabbing distant chunks. Each player or team has a maximum number of claimable chunks set by the server, so if claiming fails you have likely hit that limit. You can also configure per-chunk settings such as whether outsiders may interact with blocks, open containers, or use machines.

Why It Matters

Claimed chunks prevent other players from breaking or placing blocks, opening chests, and interacting with most blocks inside them. This is the core grief-protection feature of the mod. If you are on a team, all members share the team's claims, so set up your team before claiming a large area. Unclaim chunks you no longer need to free up your claim allowance.
