Friends&Foes (Fabric/Quilt) FAQ

Just play normally — the mod's mobs spawn in their natural biomes and structures, so explore caves, mountains, and flower forests to run into Glares, Mooblooms, and Copper Golems. Craft a Copper Button early if you want a way to summon and use a Copper Golem.

Copper Golems spawn naturally in villages and can also be spawned with a Copper Golem Spawn Egg. Place a Copper Button on a block near the golem and it will walk over and press it, which is useful for automating doors, dispensers, or redstone contraptions.

Mooblooms spawn in flower forests and can be bred with Buttercups, which they also drop or spread when eating grass. Breed two Mooblooms with Buttercups to build a herd, then shear or milk them for their resources.

Rascals spawn underground and can be tamed by playing hide-and-seek — find them three times before the timer runs out. Once tamed, a Rascal leads you to hidden loot chests and rewards, so follow it closely when it starts moving.

The Wildfire is a Nether boss that shoots fireballs and shields itself with rotating blaze-like segments; break the shields or wait for openings to damage it. Defeating it drops the Wildfire Crown and Wildfire Crown Fragments, which can be used for crafting and upgrades.

The Totem of Freezing freezes nearby mobs or water when activated, useful for crowd control or creating ice. The Totem of Illusion spawns decoy copies of you to distract enemies, and both are activated by holding and using them.

Wood-type Beehives (Acacia, Birch, Cherry, etc.) function like vanilla beehives but match your build's wood palette. Place one near flowers, let bees pollinate and return, then harvest honeycomb with shears or honey with a bottle — use a campfire underneath to avoid angering the bees.

The golem only presses Copper Buttons, not vanilla stone or wooden ones, and it needs a clear path to reach the button. Make sure the button is a Copper Button (or its waxed/oxidized variants) and that nothing blocks the golem's route.

It's designed to be lightweight and generally plays well with other Fabric/Quilt mods, including biome and mob mods, since it adds content rather than replacing vanilla systems. Conflicts are rare, but if spawns feel crowded, adjust the mod's configuration options for spawn rates.

The mod is lightweight and its mobs use standard AI, so performance impact is minimal on typical setups. If you notice lag, check the configuration section to reduce spawn rates or disable specific mobs you don't need.
